We can help improve your skills using watercolours & oils in landscape painting & also help you develop your figurative drawing abilities. We teach you how to discover your imagination and introduce you to new media such as glass painting, design and computer printing.

History of art is taught along side practical modern art as a source of both inspiration & knowledge. We aspire to the artists of the past & present, yet are free & able to draw fresh inspiration from the world around us.

Courses are based around observation and the gathering of visual information which is then assessed & analysed. Imaginative interpretations of the subject are drawn and later translated into a cohesive whole.

During the course we regularly take you out on drawing and photographic trips. We take you deep into the hills and gorges, explore medieval villages, visit fishing ports, walk & sketch along the canals, paint in fields of grapes or sunflowers & find inspiration discovering the beauty of lake filled sea scapes blown with the soft wind of the Mediterranean.

Painting techniques include watercolour, oil, acrylic, collage, glass painting and printing, using digital computer technology. Subjects range from landscape, portraiture, and drawing from imagination.

PhotoShop and Illustrator computer programs can be used to convert original images for use in print and design. Computer knowledge is used in combination with scanned artwork to create cards and prints that the artist can produce themselves.

Painting is offered as weekly courses or part of a mixed activity holiday course.

Prices for full and half board guests include accommodation, airport transfers from Carcassonne or Montpellier only and rail transfers from Narbonne only.

Prices for self-catering guests do not include transfers, we recommend a hire car for getting to the shops etc.
